❌ Do Inspectors Pass or Fail a House? (Spoiler: We Don’t)

Here’s What a Property Inspection Really Means

One of the most common questions we hear is:
“Did the house pass?”

And our honest answer?
That’s not how inspections work.

 So what do we do?

Our job as inspectors is to provide an objective, visual assessment of the property’s current condition. We look at major systems like:

  • Roof
  • Foundation
  • Electrical
  • Plumbing
  • Heating & Air

…and we note any issues we observe (within ASHI, CREIA or ASTM standards), from safety concerns to maintenance items.

🚫 We don’t “pass” or “fail” a property

We don’t give grades, make recommendations on whether to buy, or determine value. Our goal is to inform, not influence your decision.

Whether it’s an office, a dream home or a fixer-upper, our role is to:

  • Help buyers make confident, informed decisions
  • Help sellers understand what may come up
  • Help agents support both sides with clear info

🧾 What the Report Really Tells You:

  • What’s working
  • What needs repair or further evaluation
  • What might need attention down the line

Every home has something to report — even brand new ones!

If you’re unsure how to interpret an inspection report or just want a second look at the summary, we’re happy to help you through it.
