What is a Home Energy Audit?

A Home Energy Audit will rate the home’s energy efficiency on a 1-10 scale (5 being the national average). This is an assessment of your home’s energy use and what improvements can be made to increase energy efficiency and save the homeowner money.

What items are examined for a Home Energy Audit?

  • Attic insulation
  • Basement wall insulation
  • Basement/crawlspace floor insulation
  • Crawlspace wall insulation
  • Central air conditioner
  • Boiler, furnace or heat pump
  • Room air conditioner
  • Roof – reflectance
  • Roof – insulated sheathing
  • Skylights
  • Siding – insulated sheathing

Air tightness:

  • Exterior walls
  • Duct sealing
  • Duct insulation

Who is qualified to conduct a Home Energy Audit?

Our assessor is approved by the US Department of Energy and he works directly with them. Currently, Jerry Holt is the ONLY Home Energy Score Certified Assessor in all of Los Angeles County.

This service is applicable only to single-family homes, condos/townhomes or duplexes (Duplex is defined as ONE building containing two units)
